[Endurance Asteroid]
As part of Nuit Blanche, Arthur will be performing a special live and improvised set on his modular synthesizer accompanied live by Toronto-based new media artist Karl Skene. The performance also marks the third release entitled "Lagrange Points" on his new electronic/experimental imprint, Endurance Asteroid.
Arthur Oskan is a renowned Canadian electronic music artist with work featured on acclaimed labels including My Favorite Robot, Thoughtless, Einmusika, and Beretta Music. As a Juno Award nominee and celebrated international live performer, he's established himself as an innovator, continuing to explore new ways to express a sound uniquely his own.
Oskan's sound is guided by his curiosity as a child, of life's darker corners and the luminescence of passing shadows. It highlights a time beyond the present, orbit influenced by the gentle pull from spacetime's possibility and past. Endurance Asteroid draws imagination into its wake, propelled by the momentum of new hope and awareness.
[Suction Records. Ice Machine]
Jason Amm's work as Solvent has neatly defied categorization. His music is too sweetly melodic for techno or acid, his compositions too fiendishly detailed for synth-pop. He's played “minimal wave” parties and goth clubs, indie-rock shows and techno all-nighters.
As co-founder of Suction Records, the Toronto-based label run with Lowfish's Gregory DeRocher, he has released acclaimed albums in addition to releases on Morr Music and Ghostly International. Along with notable remixes of artists including Soft Cell, Alter Ego, and Adult.
Jason teamed up with director Robert Fantinatto to produce the film "I Dream Of Wires"; about the history and resurgence of the modular synthesizer as well as a documentary about iconic synth pioneer, Bob Moog, and will soon be premiering his latest doc project, Subotnick, exploring the life of “the Father of Techno” 90 year-old Morton Subotnick.
[Stasis Recordings]
Like every musician, Sanderson has been surrounded by music from an early age. After years of DJ'ing and doing background audio work for a couple of local bands, the need to delve properly into the production side of the industry took over in 2001. Stasis Recordings came to fruition a year after.
"The musical influences are all over the map but it's safe to say aspects of 80s new wave, dub reggae, electronic music, movie soundtracks, and sci-fi lore play roles in my writing process."
[System80]
As minisystem, Toronto-based Jeff Lee composes electronic music with a stable of vintage analogue synthesizers and drum machines. He founded System80 in 2017 to bring the analogue sounds and synthesis methods from the 1970s and 1980s to the popular Eurorack modular synthesizer format. System80 is specifically focussed on the circuits and interfaces of the vintage Japanese instruments that were essential to the development of acid house, techno, and electro.
[Architextures]
Hans Ohm has been putting together music focused events since the mid 90's with a strong emphasis on bringing like-minded people together, working creatively towards shared goals and building lasting relationships.
Most importantly, he's interested in furthering that special magic something that happens when large groups of the right persuasion move to the same beat — The Vibe.
Apart from community building Hans has been DJing for over twenty years now and still remains a junglist through and through, worshipping the breakbeat through all its permutations, gravitating towards anything deep dubby and bass heavy.
